Site Tips Over the course of designing websites I've run into quite a few things that I wish I knew prior to designing a site. I've chosen to create this section to try and fill you in on some things you might not now that'll keep you from making the same mistakes I did. Don't Rush A site is only as good as the amount of time put into it. Keep that in mind when creating a website. Also know that keeping a site running strong means updating often and keeping the site interesting and new. Top PHP, CSS, other external files Any chance you have keep the style of your site in one file. This will make it easier if you choose to change the design and will save you a lot of time in the end. Top Plan Ahead Outline exactly what you want your website to achieve. Without this you WILL end up after creating the entire website realizing something you should have done. Going back to change it now will be very time consuming. Top Review Your Site Review your website when you're done. Check that all links on all pages work, dead ends do not look good to visitors. Make sure everything makes sense. Top Know the competition Familiarize yourself with sites competing with what you hope to create. Know how they do what they do. Top Conclusion In the end, understanding code and developing websites is both fun and potentially profitable but there is work to be done.
